About Fibtitious

This is my personal blog. I am a self-confessed geek. However, I am not one of those self-absorbed egoists that thinks I must have a blog so that the world could follow every thought that ever crosses my mind.

The purpose of this blog is merely to document some intriguing issues (mostly computer and programming related) that I encounter from time to time. Solutions are often available if you google around (I guess it’s okay to “bing” for something too these days), but they can be hard to find and even prove inaccurate. I am merely logging what has worked for me, hoping that I might help someone else in the process.

And the name Fibtitious that I chose for this blog? Assuming I am not a self-absorbed egoist and that you are interested, here is the definition according to the Oxford English Dictionary:

fibtitious ADJETIVE 1 a fib that is fictitious; not a lie about something unimportant 2 a truth about something that might actually exist 3 representing what may happen one day or of what exists in someone’s imagination 4 genuine or proper if you really want it to be 5 somewhat accurate; not totally false

The above definition is of course fibtitious — the Oxford English Dictionary does not really say that. But it might have if the word existed!

I hope you find something fibtitious on this site :-)

Happy surfing!
